Alphakat GmbH

The Alphakat technology described in this plan was originally funded and operated by Siemens’ Central Research and Development Group in Germany.  Dr. Christian Koch, previously a senior chemist with the Siemens research group, and one of the inventors was able to buy the patents from Siemens which enabled the establishment of Alphakat GmbH in Germany.  It should be noted also that GEI has a senior project manager, Brian Burnett, who lives in Stuttgart, Germany who has established an excellent relationship with Dr. Koch and other senior staff, visited plant sites in Germany, assisted in due diligence and will be instrumental in managing the German side of the manufacturing process in conjunction with Alphakat.

The technology process being proposed is diesel fuel production via the catalytic depolymerization of hydrocarbon-rich wastes.

Catalytic depolymerization is not to be confused with other depolymerization systems currently available to process hydrocarbon-rich wastes.  Other systems employ a process called pyrolysis which operates under high temperature and high pressure, and are relatively expensive to run. Moreover, under such conditions these systems generate undesirable byproducts such as dioxins and furans.  Processing PVC and PCBs in these systems is problematic because they contain chlorine and other materials which cannot be handled or disposed of safely at the high temperatures they operate at, and therefore, are not emissions free or as efficient.
