The gasification technology driving the facility has been and continues to be reviewed and tested by leading experts in the field, among them Dr. Schuetzle, the patent holder for the invention of the catalytic converter, and numerous other technology patents. Schuetzle serves as President of the Renewable Energy Institute International, and authored a report for the California Energy Commission which cites the technologies that convert carbon based materials by pyrolysis, gasification and steam reforming as the best technology available. We will use that technology in our facility because it has been ranked as the #1 clean technology for the thermal conversion of biomass and MSW. Our technical partner has the additional advantage that their technology has “Zero Water Emissions” and “Near Zero Air Emissions.”
Major components used in the gasifier have been used in the coal industry, the nuclear power industry, and municipal water industry and have been combined into a highly efficient gasifier technology with significant reductions in air emissions and zero water emissions. Testing is being conducted on the technology which will be witnessed by a third party engineering company in late August. That engineering company will draft a report on the performance and emissions of the technology after those tests have been completed. It is fully expected the findings will ratify earlier results and meet or exceed expectations.
In the coming weeks following the independent engineer’s report, the plant’s “zero water emissions” and “near zero air emissions” efficacy will be evaluated and ratified by the Bureau of Waste Management of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Office of Energy and Technology Deployment (OETD) of Pennsylvania, and the Governor’s Action Team of Pennsylvania.
All testing evaluations are expected to confirm Green Energy’s claims of zero negative environmental impact.
